National U-15 cricketers to begin encampment on Tuesday

The national Under-15 cricket team is set to begin encampment on Tuesday (August 9), the Guyana Cricket Board has announced.

“The seven-day camp, which will conclude on August 15, will be important as the players prepare for the CWI Rising Star Regional Under-15 tournament, scheduled for Grenada from August 18-28,” the Board said in a release.

Dave Mohabir, brother of national Under-17 and Under-19 captain Alvin Mohabir, has been selected to lead the team, while his deputy is talented batsman Romario Ramdeholl.

The squad also includes Adrian Hetmyer, the nephew of West Indies senior team batsman, Shimron Hetmyer. Latchman Yadram is the Head Coach, while Elroy Stephney has been named Manager.

“The 14-man squad and reserves are required to check in at the LBI Cricket Hostel for 17:00h on Tuesday, August 9, 2022,” the Board added.

The other players are Shane Prince, Zandon Rose, Durwin La Rose, Dhanesh Persaud, Arun Gainda, Navin Boodwah, Arif Khan, Razam Koobir, Nicholas Lovell, Sohil Mohamed and Jonathan Mentore.

The standbys are Omrion Smith, Mikle Sharma, Nicholas Hall, Thierry Henry, Elis Ramdat and Enrique Mickle.
