A 29-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday at Bourda Street, Georgetown, after he was caught with cocaine hidden inside a cigarette pack.
Police headquarters reported that the man was searched by police officers from Regional Division 4 ‘A’ during a raid exercise.
When searched, officers found one cigarette pack stashed in the man’s pants crotch. Inside the pack was a quantity of “whitish rock-like substance”, suspected to be cocaine.
Subsequently, the man was escorted to the Alberttown Police Station in Georgetown. The narcotics were weighed in his presence and amounted to 3.9 grams.
The man was placed into custody pending charges.
