Vanessa Anderson, the 22-year-old resident of ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, who was murdered Monday night by two sisters, died from stab wounds to her back.

Police headquarters reported that an autopsy was conducted on Wednesday by pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.

After determining that the woman died from stab wounds, the body was handed over to Anderson’s family for burial at a later date.

The two sisters who attacked Anderson were her neighbours.

Based on investigations, Anderson was in front of her yard at around 18:30hrs when she was approached by the two suspects and an argument ensued.

During the argument, the 20-year-old suspect collected a knife from the 29-year-old suspect and dealt the victim two stabs – one to the upper left back and the other to the left shoulder.

After being stabbed, Anderson stumbled into her yard and collapsed. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The two women subsequently turned themselves in at the Turkeyen Police Station along with the knife used to stab the woman.
