Bangladesh ‘A’ 69-1 on rain-hit day against West Indies ‘A’


Rain meant only 34 overs were possible on day one of the second Four-Day match between West Indies and Bangladesh ‘A’ teams at the Daren Sammy ground, St. Lucia.

Play started at 15:15h and Bangladesh reached stumps at 69-1 with Shadman Islam 22 (2x4s) from 98 balls and Mohammad Hassan 23 (3x4s) from 67 balls being the two not-out batsmen.

Left-arm seamer Colin Archibald (1-14) took the lone wicket of Mahmudul Hasan Joy (17).

Play will resume on Thursday at 09:00h, weather permitting.

Meanwhile, the first Four-Day match, which ended in a draw, was also affected by rain, but some players managed to produce commendable performances.

SUMMARY: Bangladesh ‘A’ 167 all out from 60.5 overs (Mohammad Mithun 50, Nayeem Hasan 27, Mohammed Hassan 20; Marquino Mindley 5-59, Justin Greaves 3-26) drew with West Indies ‘A’ 263-5 from 98 overs (Tagenarine Chanderpaul 49, Joshua DaSilva 43, Kacey Carty 36, Tevin Imlach 36, Jeremy Solozano 32, Alick Athanaze 30*; Syed Ahmed 2-73, Hasan 1-44, Rejaur Rahman Raja 1-80)
