Children survive Linden highway accident after mother loses control of speeding car
Thirty-five-year-old Natoya Narine, a mother of two, died on Sunday in an accident on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway but two children, including her 10-year-old daughter, and her fiancé survived.
In an official statement on the accident Monday, Police Headquarters said Narine, a former model, was the driver of the vehicle that was also transporting 45-year-old Andy Beaton, 10-year-old Kiara Cush and three-year-old Andyha Beaton.
They had just left their One Mile, Wismar, Linden home and were heading to Georgetown.
At about 12:10 hrs while in the vicinity of Loo Creek, police said Narine who was driving at a fast rate of speed lost control of the vehicle which flipped several times and turned turtle.
Narine was taken out of the vehicle in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Her body is presently at the Wismar Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.
Andy Beaton was admitted as a patient suffering from head injuries, Kiara Cush was treated for a fractured left leg and sent away while Andyha Beaton was treated for minor lacerations and discharged.
