Region Seven woman is latest COVID death, two in ICU

A Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) woman is the latest COVID-19 death, the Ministry of Health in its daily dashboard reported.
The unvaccinated 82-year-old woman died on August 11, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,276.
Meanwhile, 142 new cases were recorded in Region Two (one case), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (16 cases), Region Six (114 cases), Region Seven (two cases), Region Eight (one case) and Region Ten (three cases).
The new cases take the total number of infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 70,703.
Meanwhile, there are two patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 464 patients in home isolation.
To date, 68, 947 people have recovered.
