Two men die from COVID, 41 new cases recorded

Two men from Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice) are the latest COVID-19 deaths, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.
The unvaccinated men, ages 88 and 71, died on August 13 and August 16, respectively.
The deaths take the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,278.
Meanwhile, 41 new cases were recorded in Region Three (one case), Region Four (32 cases), Region Six (two cases), Region Seven (two cases), Region Nine (two cases), and Region Ten (two cases).
The new cases take the total number of infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 70,744.
Meanwhile, there are two patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 438 patients in home isolation.
To date, 69,011 people have recovered.
