6IXTY: Six-hitting Rutherford spurs Patriots to victory over Kings

After a first-ball duck in his debut innings in the CPL Men’s 6IXTY earlier this week, Guyanese Sherfane Rutherford came to the party on Friday, blasting St. Kitts and Nevis to a three-wicket win over St. Lucia Kings at Warner Park, St. Kitts.
Chasing 67 for victory, Patriots galloped to 72-3, winning with as many as 24 balls to spare.
The victory was hastened by a blitz from Rutherford, his unbeaten 24 spanning just five deliveries and four scoring shots, all sailing over the ropes.
The left-hander struck Jeavor Royal for four consecutive sixes to close out the match in style. Opener Evin Lewis made 22, as Royal took 2-36.
Earlier, Jaden Carmichael and Jon-Ross Jaggesar picked up 2-6 and 2-28 respectively as Kings were bowled out for 66 in 8.4 overs.
Johnson Charles made 28 off 14 (2x4s, 3x6s).
