Roache charged, remanded for reputed wife’s murder

Local businessman, 38-year-old Quincy Roache was charged and remanded to prison on Tuesday for the brutal murder of his reputed wife, Tacina Dazzle.

Roache made his appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court where he was not required to plea to the charge and was remanded until October 14, 2022.

Distressing voice notes sent to close family members by Dazzle weeks before she was stabbed to death by Roache late Friday night revealed that the man was reportedly controlling and manipulating her.

Dazzle of Ujamma Housing Scheme, La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD), had clearly expressed her intention to leave the relationship and had begun looking for employment to support her exit.

She accused Roache who she has been together for two years, of being a narcissist and said he even manipulated her to leave her job.

Dazzle further said would be accepting any form of help to leave her husband.

Police Headquarters had reported that the couple often had domestic issues.

At about 23:35 hrs on Friday, Dazzle was heard screaming by relatives and soon after seen running out of her yard and collapsed on the bridge.

Roache then exited the yard and escaped in a passing minibus. Hours later, he turned himself over to police at the Turkeyen Police Station and reportedly confessed to the crime.

The News Room understands that Dazzle was stabbed 16 times about her body.

She was the mother of a six-year-old boy while Roache has two sons from a previous relationship. The News Room understands that Tacina’s young son witnessed the entire ordeal when she was murdered and remains traumatised.
