A 70-year-old unvaccinated man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is the latest COVID-19 death, the Ministry of Health’s daily COVID-19 dashboard reported on Friday.
The man died on September 1, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,279.
Meanwhile, a total of 14 persons were infected with the COVID-19 disease after another 240 tests were done in the last 24 hours
With these new infections, the overall number of cases increased to 71, 076.
The new cases were recorded in Region Three (one case), Region Four (ten cases), Region Six (two cases) and Region Ten (one case).
There are two patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, seven patients in institutional isolation and 209 are in home isolation.
To date, 69,579 people have recovered.
