CPL 2022: Knight Riders, Patriots share points after washout

The much anticipated clash between the Kieron Pollard-led Trinbago Knight Riders and the Dwayne Bravo-led St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots never got going on Saturday evening, as persistent rainfall forced an abandonment without a ball bowled.

Warner Park in St. Kitts took a battering from the elements, and despite the best efforts of the groundstaff, no play was possible.

Set to start at 19:00h, the game was eventually called off at 22:18h.

The umpires conducted several inspections and the toss was possible at 21:30h, with the start time being 21:45h.

However, immediately after Bravo won the toss and opted to bowl in what would have been a 12-over contest, the rain came again, heavy enough to force the teams to walk away with a point each.

Patriots XI: Andre Fletcher (wk), Evin Lewis, Darren Bravo, Dewald Brevis, Sherfane Rutherford, Dwaine Pretorius, Dwayne Bravo (capt.), Duan Jansen, Sheldon Cottrell, Jeremiah Louis, Akila Dananjaya.

Knight Riders XI: Sunil Narine, Tion Webster, Nicholas Pooran, Tim Seifert (wk), Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard (capt.), Seekkuge Prasanna, Terrence Hinds, Khary Pierre, Anderson Phillip, Ravi Rampaul.
