Guyana’s CSEC pass rate jumps

Guyanese students showed improved performances at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations in 2022, with the country’s pass rate jumping to 68.5 per cent.

Chief Education Officer Dr. Marcel Hutson, who is presenting preliminary results from this year’s examinations at a ceremony in Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), noted that this is a substantial increase from the year before.

This year, there were 10,368 candidates and 62,990 subject entries. With improved passes in many subject areas, the country’s pass rate managed to improve from the 66.3 per cent pass rate recorded the year before.
