Saints Conquerors, GCC Spartans, YMCA Old Fort and Saints S7N into U-20 Hockey finals
- Men’s and Women’s semi-finals set for Wednesday evening
Saints Conquerors, GCC Spartans, YMCA Old Fort and Saints S7N have moved into the finals of the Under-20 category of the Guyana Hockey Board’s Lucozade Indoor Hockey tournament.
In semi-final action at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Saints Conquerors and GCC Spartans won their ‘final-four’ games to advance to the Under-20 girls championship match, while YMCA Old Fort and Saints S7N are the teams remaining in the hunt for the Under-20 boys title.
In the Under-20 girls semi-finals, Saints Conquerors edged YMCA Old Fort Sumarais 3-2 and GCC Spartans inflicted a 4-0 defeat on GCC Her-ricanes.
In the Under-20 boys semi-finals, Saints S7N thumped Saints Superstars 4-0 and YMCA Old Fort got the better of GCC Pitbulls 2-1.
The finals will be played on Friday afternoon, starting 17:00h.
Meanwhile, in the two Women’s games on Monday evening, GBTI GCC Tigers and Woodpecker Hikers played to a 3-3 draw, while GBTI GCC Spartans whipped Saints 8-1.
Semi-final action is set for Wednesday evening in the Men’s and Women’s categories, starting at 17:00h.
In the Women’s semi-finals, GBTI GCC Spartans will take on YMCA Old Fort and GBTI GCC Tigers and Woodpecker Hikers will clash in a rematch. In the Men’s semis, Pepsi Hikers will confront Bounty GCC and Hikers Cadets will test skills with YMCA Old Fort.
The Men’s and Women’s finals will be played after the Under-20 championship games on Friday evening.
