Several persons were on Wednesday arrested after officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) intercepted a Route 32 minibus and found 14.1 grammes of cocaine.
According to CANU, the bus, carrying several persons, was searched at Meer Zorgen, West Bank Demerara, on Wednesday.
CANU officers carried out a search of the bus during which a black plastic bag containing brick-like substances, suspected to be cocaine, were found.
The persons on the bus along with the substances were escorted to CANU Headquarters. The substance was tested there and the result was positive for cocaine amounting to 14.1 grammes.
Investigations are ongoing.
