A total of 17 more persons were infected with COVID-19 after 342 tests were done in the last 24 hrs, the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday.
The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 209.
These new cases were recorded in: Region Two (one case), Region Three (two cases), Region Four (five cases), Region Six (eight cases) and Region Seven (one case).
There are no patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), however, seven persons remain in institutional isolation and 153 in home isolation.
There have been 1,279 deaths and 69,770 recoveries.
