Cops charged with trafficking ganja into CID headquarters

Two serving members of the Guyana Police Force were on Friday released on $200,000 bail each for trafficking marijuana into the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, Eve Leary.

Corporal Kevin Bobb, 38, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden and Lance Corporal Andre Roland, 25, of Foulis, East Coast Demerara appeared before City Magistrate Leron Daly.

The two officers denied trafficking 680 grams of marijuana into the CID headquarters on June 14, 2022.

Police Prosecutor Christopher did not disclose the case facts. However, the News Room was made to understand that the narcotics was found during a search at CID.

Magistrate Daly released the two officers on bail on condition that they report to the Major Crime headquarters every other Monday.

The matter was adjourned until October 7.
