Region Four man dies from COVID-19, four new cases recorded
An 88-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is the latest COVID-19 fatality, the Ministry of Health reported on Friday.
The man died on September 15, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,281.
Meanwhile, a total of four more persons were infected with COVID-19 after 162 tests were done in the last 24 hrs.
The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 243.
These new cases were recorded in: Region Three (one case) and Region Four (three cases)
There are no patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, five persons remain in institutional isolation and 120 are in home isolation.
There have been 69, 837 recoveries.
