    Stravo Evons, a 35-year-old labourer of Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown was charged and remanded to prison on Friday for two counts of armed robbery.

    Evans is accused of robbing Nitisha Klass and Kevin Frazer on September 13 at the Soesdyke Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

    He made his appearance before Principal Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty to both charges. Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison until October 31, 2022.

    Meanwhile, Harvey Mattis, 35, a labourer of Wismar Linden was also remanded to prison for break and enter. He also appeared before Principal Magistrate Scarce on Friday.

    He is accused of breaking into Sumintra Paul’s house at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara between 18:30hrs on September 11 and 03:00hrs on September 12.

    He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison until October 31, 2022.
