A man identified as Leon went berserk in the wee hours of Wednesday, chopping his sleeping son to death just after he chopped his wife and set her on fire.
Dead is Seon Scott. He was the only son for his father while his mother, Sharon Scott, is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The incident occurred at about 01:00hrs on Wednesday at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.
Reports indicate that Leon attempted to kill himself after the gruesome act but when police ranks arrived on the scene he was still breathing.
