Intense action anticipated as GuyOil school football continues Saturday

Saturday will mark match day two of the GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers Under-18 School Football League and many of the top sides will be back in action at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Initially, the matches were slated for Sunday but the coordinators, Petra Organisation, opted to bring forward the four matches due to cricket carnival activities.

From 10:00h, West Ruimevelt will face Cummings Lodge followed by Chritianbug Wismar battling  Friendship secondary from 11:30h.

The other two matches of the day will be North Ruimveldt Secondary up against President’s College from 13:00h then Golden Grove and Dolphin clash from 14:30h.

Christianburg/Wismar Secondary and Golden Grove Secondary had recorded commanding wins to kickstart the tournament.

Also in winner’s row on the opening day were Cummings Lodge Secondary and President’s College.

The eight teams were drawn from the recently concluded Milo Schools Football tournament.

The teams will play each other once, at the end of which the school with the most points will be declared champion. A top prize of G$500,000 is at stake, while second will receive G$300,000, third G$200,000 and fourth $100,000.

The cash prizes aside, the winner and runner-up will be invited to participate in the KFC Invitational tournament, also coordinated by the Petra Organisation.

They will be joined by four other teams, two from overseas and two from the hinterland.
