Gold miners, boat captain charged with rape of Venezuelan woman
Three men were charged on Monday for allegedly raping a 32-year-old Venezuelan woman when they appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
Ryan Hendro, a 24-year-old miner of Sheet Anchor, Berbice; Aubrey Garraway, a 22-year-old miner of Second Avenue, Bartica and 29-year-old Kevin Pollard called “Chiney”, a boat captain of Itaballi Landing appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert.
The alleged incident occurred on September 26, 2022 at Second Avenue, Bartica.
The trio was charged separately for the crime. They were not required to plea to the indictable charge.
Hendro and Pollard were placed on $300,000 bail each while Garraway was remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned until October 21, 2022.
