Man, 24, who burnt wife with hot porridge two months ago nabbed in Berbice
A 24-year-old man who was wanted in connection with the attempted murder of his wife was over the weekend nabbed in Berbice.
An intelligence led operation by the Police in Region Six resulted in the arrest of Ajay Persaud called “Nicholas”, a joiner from La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.
He was wanted for the attempted murder of his wife Analee Gonsalves, which took place on August 23, 2022 in Region Three.
Persaud was arrested at the Sukhpaul Gas Station in Corriverton, Upper Corentyne on Sunday and is in police custody assisting with investigations.
The mother of two, Analee Gonsalves, 20, was doused with hot porridge by Persaud at their home in La Parfaite Harmonie. Gonsalves sustained severe burn injuries to her back, face and other parts of her body.
Persaud had escaped and was on the run until he was captured.
