Jamual John wins Urban Benjamin memorial cycling

The ever-consistent Jamual John added another victory to his collection last weekend, winning the annual Urban Benjamin memorial road race in Essequibo.

The Team Foundation rider was the first to the finish line, outlasting his competitors in the race which started at Charity, proceeded to Supenaam and returned to the start point for the finish.

John clocked three hours, six minutes, 15 seconds and carted off the top prize of an ounce of gold.

Andre Greene took second, followed by Briton John, Romello Crawford, Robin Persaud and Paul DeNobrega in that order.

Persaud was the top Veteran rider, winning ahead of Horace Burrowes and Segan Hubbard in that order, while Alexander Leung took the junior race, with Sherwin Sampson second and Aaron Newton third.

Burrowes was the top Over-50 rider, followed by Yohan Burrowes and Paul Chooweenam, while Clivecia Spencer won the Ladies race.

Apart from the ounce of gold, the top performers also received cash incentives.

The race was coordinated by Team KFC Evolution in partnership with Conrad Gomes.
