Schools record easy wins in GuyOil U-18 Football League

The Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil)/Tradewind Tankers Under-18 Football League continued at the weekend with all four matches producing comfortable margins of victory for the successful schools.

North Ruimveldt Secondary comfortably defeated Friendship Secondary 5-1 in the opening game of the day at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, followed by Christianburg Wismar Secondary outplaying Dolphin Secondary 3-0, Golden Grove Secondary defeating Cummings Lodge Secondary 2-0 and President’s College edging West Ruimveldt Secondary 1-0.

In their victory, the North Ruimveldt lads were led by a double from Bryan Wharton, who netted in the 18th and 22nd minutes. Jevon Pluck had opened the scoring in the 14th minute, while Josiea Joseph (27th) and Jeremiah Moore (50th) completed the rout.

Randy Springer scored Friendship Secondary’s lone goal in the 50th minute.

Christianburg Wismar Secondary got three different scorers in their win over Dolphin Secondary, with the first goal coming off the cleats of Krishtian Lewis in the 32nd minute.

Eighteen minutes later, Kelvin Hintzen doubled the advantage, and Daniel Adolph made it three with a strike in the 69th minute.

Golden Grove Secondary’s win over Cummings Lodge Secondary was set up by a double from Kelvin Richardson in the 13th and 50th minutes, while President’s College’s all-important strike in their 1-0 success over West Ruimveldt Secondary came from Juan Moses in the 21st minute.

The competition, coordinated by the Petra Organisation, will continue on October 16 with another four matches at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
