A man was on Wednesday released on bail after he denied stealing electrical tools valued over $1 million, while another was remanded for armed robbery committed on a woman.

Germin Williams, 43, of Nelson Street, Mocha, East Bank Demerara, was arraigned at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate Court before Magistrate Judy Latchman, who read the charge to him.

Williams was charged with Break and Enter and Larceny, and pleaded not guilty.

The man is accused of committing the offence on the property of 55-year-old Neil Wickham of Barnwell North, Mocha, East Bank Demerara, on October 8, where he stole a quantity of electrical tools valued $1,270,000.

Williams was granted bail in the sum of $60,000.

Meanwhile, Curtis Vasconscellos, 29, of First Street, Agricola, was later brought before the same Magistrate.

He denied the charge which read that he robbed a 50-year-old woman of her cellphone valued $37,000 and $25,000 cash on October 2, at Herstelling Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

He was remanded after a not guilty plea. Both matters were adjourned to November 4.
