    Heavy rainfall Wednesday night and into Thursday morning has forced the Guyana Cricket Board to switch the remaining third round and final of the Senior Inter-county 50-over championship to the National Stadium, Providence.

    The third round was slated to be held on Friday at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda, and the Enmore Community Centre, East Coast Demerara.

    The Guyana Cricket Board made the announcement on Thursday

    These remaining two matches in the preliminary phase will now be played this weekend at the Stadium, with the day/night final set for next Tuesday at the same venue, starting at 14:00h.

    On Saturday, Berbice, unbeaten in both their games so far, will face the President’s XI, who have been defeated in both their matches.

    On Sunday, Demerara and Essequibo, both with a win and a defeat from two games, will square off. These games will start at 09:00h.

    In the opening round, Berbice defeated Demerara by 189 runs at ‘Bourda’, and Essequibo emerged with an eight-wicket win over the President’s XI at Everest.

    In Round Two, Demerara defeated the President’s XI by 160 runs at Everest, and Berbice got the better of Essequibo by 26 runs via the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method.

    Below is a summary of the first two rounds

    ROUND ONE

    At GCC: Berbice thrashed Demerara by 189 runs

    SUMMARY: Berbice 363-6 from 45 overs (Anthony Bramble 106, Jonathan Foo 71, Shimron Hetmyer 58, Romario Shepherd 40, Rampertab Ramnauth 36; Ronaldo Ali-Mohamed 3-66) vs Demerara 174 all out from 29.3 overs (Leon Johnson 51, Tagenarine Chanderpaul 39, Akshaya Persaud 37; Veerasammy Permaul 3-30, Kevin Sinclair 3-42, Gudakesh Motie 2-32)

    At Everest: Essequibo defeated GCB President’s XI by eight wickets  

    SUMMARY: GCB President’s XI 237-8 from 50 overs (Shamar Joseph 67*, Kwesi Mickle 40, Suresh Dhanai 38, Matthew Nandu 27; Anthony Adams 3-14, Ricardo Adams 2-40) vs Essequibo 240-2 from 41.3 overs (Kemol Savory 108*, Kevon Boodie 92, Keyron Fraser 1-19, Akini Adams 1-40)

    ROUND TWO

    At Everest: Demerara defeated GCB President’s XI by 160 runs

    SUMMARY: Demerara 316-5 from 50 overs (Leon Johnson 153, Christopher Barnwell 63, Tagenarine Chanderpaul 53, Sherfane Rutherford 26*; Suresh Dhanai 3-87) vs President’s XI 156 all out from 36 overs (Trevon Griffith 63; Steven Sankar 4-49, Ashmead Nedd 2-22).

    At GCC: Berbice defeated Essequibo by 26 runs (DLS method)

    SUMMARY: Essequibo 226 all out from 49 overs (Quintin Sampson 85, Keemo Paul 46, Anthony Adams 30; Romario Shepherd 4-37, Kevin Sinclair 3-35, Veerasammy Permaul 2-37) vs Berbice 144-4 from 26 overs (Anthony Bramble 62, Romario Shepherd 30*; Garfield Phillips 2-16)
