Bryan Wharton, 59, was arrested on Monday after 22.8 kilograms of marijuana worth $21 million was discovered during an operation at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
The operation was carried out by the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU).
In a statement, CANU said the marijuana was found in 11 parcels.
Investigations are ongoing.
