The United Kingdom (UK) has lifted the visa requirement for Guyanese seeking to visit the country.

This was announced by the British High Commissioner to Guyana Jane Miller during a press conference with President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Tuesday.

She explained that this visa lift is only applicable to Guyanese travelers seeking to visit the UK for up to six months. It takes effect from November 9, 2022.

Miller said too that the abolition of the visa requirement is a “real sign” of the growing UK/ Guyana relationship.

Meanwhile, President Ali said this agreement was reached following discussions between former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and King Charles.

He believes this move will help spur greater trade and business relations between the two countries.

More details in a subsequent report.

Oil money and business there from is equal to respect from Great Britain.
Having said that our citizens must respect the laws of Great Britain when visiting.
I can only fathom the enormous benefits that both populations will experience.
After all Great Britain is our motherland.
All is well that ends well.
    Cheers!

I think this is a good forward step and is good for the relationship between Guyana and the United Kingdom. The United States of America and Canada should do likewise. I still feel that the best if yet to come.
