Ansa Mcal Trading Limited on Thursday opened the doors to a spanking new facility at Palmyra, Region Six, Berbice.
The total investment by the company is pegged at US$2 million and includes a storage bond, mini-mart, Ansa Motors and a Penta Paint Shop – a first for the Berbice region.
The facility was opened in celebration of the company’s journey to 30 years in Guyana.
Managing Director Troy Cadogan, during his brief remarks, highlighted that while there was a location in Berbice to offer services, it was devoid of the facilities made available at the Georgetown branch and as such, management believed that the time was right to invest in an expanded facility at a central location.
And so, it offers easy access to customers looking to shop for their favorite brands.
Cadogan said the location and its accompanying facilities and services will “cater for all” and will also provide the 50-plus staff attached with a comfortable environment to grow and work in the best interest of the company.”
He noted that with the Penta Shop now included, Berbicians will be able to access over 1,000 different colors, a plus for the now booming construction sector. The mini-mart he said will not only stock Ansa products but will also include products from other competitive companies.
Representing the private sector, Ryan Alexander, said the investment is a sign of confidence in the Berbice economy.
Mark Bikhai, Branch Operations Manager said that the project is Ansa’s commitment to Berbice and will not only contribute and expand the economy but will also provide sound employment and a pleasant shopping experience.
