‘Buss Mouth’ stabbed, chopped to death during heated argument

Police are investigating the murder of 34-year-old Dick Grant, a gold miner who was chopped and stabbed to death during an argument with four men in the wee hours of Tuesday at a shop located at Blackwater Landing, Konawaruk, Potaro in Region Eight.

Police Headquarters reported that Grant, known as ‘Buss Mouth’, or ‘Guinness’, of Amokokopai Village, Region Seven and Blackwater Backdam, was imbibing and playing pools at a shop with two others between 20:30hrs and 22:15hrs on Monday night.

Subsequently, at about 22:15hrs, Grant left the shop and went over to another shop located on the said landing, where he continued to imbibe.

While at the second shop, he and the four suspects got into a heated argument after which a fight ensued. Grant allegedly ran away but the four suspects followed.

The man’s motionless body was found at about 05:30hrs on Tuesday, face down near the first shop.

Crime scene ranks examined the body and found stab wounds on the right side neck, along with several chop wounds to the center of the head, right hand and left hand.

The man’s body is at the Mahdia District Hospital awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police are on the hunt for the suspects.
