The tournament was officially launched this week at MACORP headquarters at Providence, East Bank Demerara, where CEO Guillermo Escarraga and President of the Lusignan Golf Club Patanjilee Persaud offered remarks.

They both touched on the strong partnership between the Club and the company, noting that MACORP has been the single greatest contributor to the development of the golf course over the years.

Escarraga said: “It’s a very exciting opportunity we have every year to support Lusignan Golf Club and produce this golf tournament that is now one of the most important tournaments on the calendar every year. We are very proud to be associated with Lusignan Golf Club for a number of years.”

Persaud said: “This tournament has become a staple for us in golf. We would like to thank MACORP for all the support they have given us through the many years.”

A statement from the Club noted, “The Lusignan golf grounds would not be in the pristine condition it is today without the generous donation of high-end irrigation and grazing machinery MACORP has loaned the club over the years.”
