A superb all-round effort from Jamaica Scorpions subjected Barbados Pride to a 64-run defeat in the Cricket West Indies CG United Super50 Cup on Thursday in Antigua.

Playing in the day/night contest, Scorpions got solid contributions from their batsmen in a total of 277-6, to which Pride responded with 213 all out from 44.1 overs.

West Indies batsman Rovman Powell led the Scorpions batting with 80 off 54 (4x4s, 5x6s) and Test batsman Nkrumah Bonner scored 59 off 81 (6x4s).

Odean Smith went big in the death overs, striking three sixes and a four in an unbeaten 44 off 35 balls, while Jermaine Blackwood made 31, Andre McCarthy 26 and Brandon King 25.

Off-spinner Roston Chase picked up 3-31 for Barbados Pride, who got runs from only two batsmen in a disappointing batting display.

Shai Hope topscored with 86 off 103 balls (7x4s, 1×6) and Chase made 57 off 66 (7x4s, 1×6), featuring in a third wicket partnership of 106.

Once they were separated, wickets began to stumble, with Nicholson Gordon taking 3-21, Smith 2-24, Jeavor Royal 2-45 and Dennis Bulli 2-57.
