Dead is Oma Devi Virasamy, 30, a housewife of Bloomfield New Housing Scheme. In police custody is Mahendra Paltoo who has reportedly confessed to chopping Virasamy to death during an argument.
The News Room was informed that Paltoo told investigators that Virsamy had accused him of being unfaithful.

He dealt Virasamy several lashes about her body with the sharp object which resulted in her sustaining chops to her right ankle, under her left eye and other parts of the body.
Initially, it was reported to the police by Paltoo that on Sunday, at about 19:00hrs, Virasamy was tidying up the bed for their baby when she “slipped and fell on a cutlass that was between two mattresses in their bedroom.”
This he said resulted in her injuries.
He told police that he assisted her by dressing the wound and she retired to bed.
