In observance of Road Safety Month 2022 under the theme “Safe Driving Saves Lives”, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Thursday continued its road safety training with nursery school children.

Police Sergeant Trotz and Corporal Gray from the Traffic Headquarters Education Unit at Eve Leary visited the Nursery pupils at School of the Nations. The pupils were educated on road safety, a GPF release said. The children were separated into two sections, A & B, and were taken for a walk to the Junction of Main and Lamaha Streets, Georgetown, to be taught about road safety. The training included the curb drill, the colours of the traffic lights, and how to use the pedestrian crossing.

“We must visit all the schools, including nursery schools and educate all our nation’s children about the importance and the effects of using the roadways safely,” Mr Clifton Hicken, Commissioner of Police, said previously.
