Kristian Jeffrey on pole in Group 4

Powered by Torginol Paints, Kristian Jeffrey powered to the fastest time during a wet qualifying session on Saturday afternoon to take pole position in Group Four for the International Race Meet organized by the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC).

Jeffrey clocked 1:29.471seconds in his final lap to beat Mark Vieira (1:29.686s) to the pole position while his father, Kevin Jeffrey, had a best lap of 1:38.950s on the new 1.6 mile track.

Kristian will also be piloting a radical in a bid to recapture the championship lead and win the Radical Caribbean Championship title on home turf.

For most of the morning and post-lunch session, rain affected the proceedings and it was until 15:00h, qualifying got underway with the exception of motorbikes and radicals.

All other groups managed to complete their qualifying.

Drivers who did not compete in qualifying will start at the back of the grid.

The radicals will have their qualifying from 07:00h on Sunday and the 28-race programme will start at 08:00h with a lap of honour then the first race at 08:20h.

In the Beharry Starlet up, Anand Ramchand (1:41.423s) is on pole while for the Street Tuner, Troy Muir (1:50.698s) will start ahead of the pack and Azaad Hassan just took two laps to register the best time of 1:40.914s in the Sport Tuner.

Group Two pole position is held by Chet Singh (1:46.919s) while Ramchand also holds pole in Group Three with a time of 1:43.393 seconds.
