Three more people, one female and two males, tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday.
These new cases were recorded after 107 COVID-19 tests were conducted. The infected persons are all from Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica).
Now, a total of 71,471 cases have been recorded in Guyana since March 2020.
Meanwhile, there is just one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), two in institutional isolation and 31 persons in home isolation.
To date, 70, 156 persons have recovered after they were diagnosed with the disease while 1, 281 have died.
Importantly, however, a pregnant woman died at the National Infectious Diseases hospital at Liliendaal, Georgetown, while receiving COVID-19 treatment. Her death is not reflected in the ministry’s update.
