Destination Guyana is being pushed around the world as a top tourism hotspot and on Wednesday, six new tourism experiences were launched by the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA).

These new products are: a tourism rainforest escape, a Georgetown bar hopping experience, a Lake Capoey tour, the Leguan-Wakenaam-Hogg Island tour and a farm-to-table experience at Parika and a multi-activity Yarrowkabra experience.

Local tour operator Wanderlust Adventures GY is responsible for the rainforest escape, the bar hopping experience and the ‘agritour’ farm-to-table experience at Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), Region Three.

This tour company will be partnering with other organisations and individuals to offer these new products.

Trailmasters Guyana, another local tour operator, will be responsible for the tri-island tour, the Yarrowkabra experience and the Lake Capoey trip.

Director of the GTA, Kamrul Baksh, said that these new products, developed by local tour operators, join the suite of adventures for Guyanese and tourists alike.

“Guyana is poised to attract new visitors and new markets and this is exactly what they need.

“With the development of short experiences, (like) these six experiences, it gives them the opportunity to travel and explore this beautiful country,” Baksh said.

Importantly, he highlighted that these new experiences join seven other products created this year. Even more tourism products should be established next year.
