Sudesh Mahadeo, 18, of Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara died after he was involved in an accident at Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara early on Saturday.
Police Headquarters reported that the accident occurred at about 01:15hrs and involved motorcar (PKK 2362). The driver of the car is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital; another passenger, 19-year-old Komal Rewtie, also of Bee Hive, was also injured.
Police said the driver was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle, which spun twice and collided with a concrete fence just off the road.
Mahadeo was flung through the front windshield and ended up on the road. He died at the scene.
“An ambulance was summoned to the scene, where the doctor on duty pronounced Sudesh Mahadeo dead. The body was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital’s mortuary,” the police reported.
Investigations are ongoing.
