Body of Linden boat captain recovered
The body of a 55-year-old boat captain who disappeared after he was allegedly pushed overboard by two passengers in the wee hours of Saturday has been recovered.
Regional Commander Hugh Winter told the News Room that the boat captain, Elick Alexander, was found floating in the Demerara River just about 10:00hrs on Sunday.
Alexander, of Silver City, Wismar, Linden was pushed overboard while transporting passengers from the Wismar shore to the Mackenzie shore at about 01:00hrs on Saturday. Police said the two passengers who pushed Alexander have been identified as a 25-year-old man Brian Hermanstyne and his brother Elden Hermanstyne, 24.
According to the police, the brothers are of unsound mind.
