Businessman Tamesh Jagmohan, a founding member of Canada-Guyana Chamber of Commerce, has received an “Excellence Award” from Heritage Beyond Borders (HBB), a Canadian Non-Governmental Organisation which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said has played “a key role in the life of the community, promoting multiculturalism, and harmony.”
Jagmohan’s award was “in special recognition for his outstanding contribution in promoting Canada-Guyana relations in commerce, culture, and philanthropy.” It was presented by the organisation on the occasion of its 15th anniversary.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau noted that the anniversary “offers a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to outstanding individuals for their contribution to the community.”
In a message to the awardees, he said it was their many accomplishments that “make you most deserving of this special recognition.”
Shaun Chen, Member of Parliament for Scarborough North, pointed to the “important work” of HBB in promoting multiculturalism and breaking down social barriers in society. He also recognised that the anniversary “was also an excellent opportunity to recognize prominent individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to society.”
Heritage Beyond Borders aims to “promote multiculturalism with the aim of achieving community harmony and integration.”
