Linden teacher stabbed to death after partner brought son home

Police Headquarters reported that Kelly Charlotte, the 22-year-old teacher who was stabbed multiple times by her partner on Sunday night, was attacked by the man moments after he took their young son to the teacher’s residence.

The suspect is a 28-year-old truck driver who is currently on the run.

Police reported that the incident occurred at about 21:15hrs at One Mile, Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice). Charlotte and her sister lived there.

It was noted that Charlotte ended an abusive relationship with her partner and opted to stay with her sister.

The sister told investigators that the suspect picked up the child at about 10:00hrs on Sunday and brought him back at about 21:15hrs.

Soon after the man returned the child, however, the sister heard Charlotte screaming and ran to the front of the house. There, she saw the suspect brutally stabbing her sister.

“The woman immediately called the police while the suspect made good his escape on foot,” police reported.

Charlotte was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex by police ranks but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Charlotte was a teacher at the Christiansburg Primary School.
