A 22-year-old primary school teacher, identified as Kelly Charlotte, was fatally stabbed several times by her partner on Sunday night. The News Room understands that Police are currently on the hunt for the suspect, with whom Charlotte had a child.

Regional Commander Hugh Winter told the News Room on Monday that the incident occurred at One Mile, Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice).

No further details could be provided but Winter related that ranks are investigating the incident.

The News Room, however, understands that the woman was fleeing her abusive partner when she was killed.

Charlotte was a teacher at the Christianburg Primary School and a mother of a young son.

The woman’s friend, Shamesia Lewis, wrote on Facebook that she was always caring, loving, helpful and much more.

“Kelly Charlotte wasn’t just a friend; she was a sister by heart. Rest In Peace baby girl, you didn’t deserve this. Your colleagues will look over your little angel as he grows and remind him how much you loved him,” Lewis wrote.

Ehat a sad state of affairs. If the couple could not agree with each other, then the most sensible thing to do was to part company and go their separate ways. That young teacher’s ife was snuffed out in her youth leaving behind her son without a mother. My condolences go out to her family and other loved ones. I do hope that the perpetrator would be apprehended and that justice would be served. He did not give life, then why must he take it. It is never a good thing for one to have blood on one’s hand. May her soul rest in peace.
