Ganja worth $10M found at No. 78 village
An investigation has been launched by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) after 79.6 kilogrammes (KG) of cannabis, with a street value of $10 million, were found at the sea dam at No. 78 Village, Corentyne Berbice.
CANU, in a press release, said that its officers found the ganja while conducting an operation. They discovered several parcels of the ganja hidden behind a wooden structure.
Following the discovery, the ranks made checks around the area in an attempt to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible but these efforts were unsuccessful.
The suspected narcotics tested positive at CANU’s Skeldon Office in Berbice.
The investigations are currently ongoing.
