An unidentified United States (US) tourist is missing after he went on a fishing expedition in the Rupununi river near Apoteri in Region Nine on Tuesday.
Commander of Regional Police Division #9 Raphael Rose confirmed that police received a report of the missing man on Tuesday. The man reportedly went missing at around 10:30 hrs.
Rose said that police have commenced their search for the missing man.
Meanwhile, Guyana’s tourism authorities have confirmed that they too are investigating the matter.
