One dead, another injured as concrete structure explodes
A 52-year-old man from No. 51 Village, Corentyne, Berbice is dead following an explosion at a worksite at Leeds Village. The incident occurred at about 09:30hrs on Friday.
The dead man was identified as Oliver France, while an injured person has been identified as a 25-year-old contractor, Jamal Rose of No.53 Village.
The News Room was informed that the men were employed by a woman to clean a concrete tank and while doing so it exploded causing them to receive injuries about their bodies.
France died on his way to the hospital while Rose was taken to Skeldon Hospital to receive treatment.
