Suspect in Riverview murder confesses, says stemmed from old grievance
The 32-year-old man stabbed to death on Friday during an argument has been identified as Mark Frank.
The News Room understands that the suspect, an 18-year-old, and Frank had an old grievance. The suspect was arrested and reportedly confessed to the crime.
The incident occurred at about 07:05hrs at Riverview, Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
According to reports, Frank was riding his bicycle when he was confronted by the suspect, who reportedly told him [Frank] that he had not forgotten when Frank chopped him.
As Frank ignored the suspect and continued to ride, the suspect took out a knife and slashed the man’s throat.
The suspect escaped on foot and was later arrested. The suspect reportedly told investigators that he and Frank had a misunderstanding last year. The suspect said he was chopped by Frank, but he never reported the matter.
He further claimed that on Friday, Frank approached him and thought he was going to attack him again, and so he stabbed him.
