A coach was arrested on Wednesday following a sexual assault complaint made by an under-aged female athlete.
Commander for Region Three, Mahendra Siwnarine confirmed the arrest and said that an investigation has been launched.
The News Room understands that the national Track and Field coach was arrested at the ongoing National Schools’ Championship at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime last week while several athletes were preparing for the championship.

Ok…..this is about the worst type of crime there is. A young girl raped under the care of a daytime caregiver (coach) . Fitting punishment……the same as she got….a life sentence with no chance of parole
