Two men busted with 40 grams of ganja in Lethem
A Guyanese and a Brazilian national were on Thursday busted with 40 grammes of marijuana stashed in a car that was being driven on the Rupununi road, Central Lethem, Region Nine.
A release from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) stated that officers intercepted a vehicle with a Brazilian licence plate, with the two occupants on Rupununi road central Lethem in the vicinity of South Bus stop.
The occupants were Romario Da Cunha Watson Dosantos, of Rua 1 DI Maio Bairro 1 Julho NO 24, Brazil, and Ken Perry of Maruranau Village, South Rupununi.
When the motor car was searched, a quantity of cannabis in a plastic bag, concealed in a haversack, was found.
The two men were arrested and escorted to CANU’S Lethem Office along with the suspected narcotics. The narcotics tested positive for cannabis, and amounted to 40 grammes.
Investigations are ongoing
