A maternity nurse and her husband, a taxi driver, were Monday morning found in a Success, East Coast Demerara alleyway in what is suspected to be an electrocution.
The dead couple has been identified as Sorojanie Hansraj 32 and Prahalad Jagnarine, 39.
The News Room understands that the nurse worked at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
According to the couple’s only child, her father was drinking at a shop in the area on Sunday and, at about 18:00hrs, he contacted her mother and told her to come for him.
After the couple never returned home, the daughter went searching for them on Monday and discovered their bodies in an alleyway.
Ranks are on the scene as an investigation was launched into the couple’s death.
