A total of 21 persons were infected with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours after 199 tests were conducted, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.
The infected persons are from Region One (five cases), Region Two (one case), Region Three (one case), Region Four (eight cases) and Region Seven (six cases).
With these new cases, a total of 71,721 cases have been recorded in Guyana since March 2020.
Meanwhile, there is one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Five persons are in institutional isolation and 198 persons are in home isolation.
To date, 70, 232 persons have recovered after they were diagnosed with the disease, while 1, 285 have died.
